Sharing your story can be powerful
However having someone truly listen is more so. The acts of storytelling and storylistening, as individuals or within communities and organisations, require the taking of disparate threads, different people’s stories – sometimes in tension with each other – and weaving them together into something coherent and effective but without flattening or obscuring a single thread with others. Listening gathers the threads, weaving turns them into a tapestry; an artefact that holds meaning across differing boundaries.
Our work, the woven piece, is something created from multiple perspectives, material that makes sense to each person from every side, rather than a single message that only makes sense viewed from one angle.

I’m Sharon, sometimes known as Summer. Reader, writer, and geek who always knows where her towel is. Professionally, I work at the edge of storytelling and storylistening, helping people and organisations bridge the gap between what they know and what the world understands.
My values
I believe good work gives more than it takes, to people, and to the land and life we share with. It starts small and personal, and grows outward, through relationships, through groups, until it becomes something that holds itself up.
