As a mentor, I bring a unique blend of experience, positivity, and practicality. My approach is grounded in empathy and adaptability, focusing on your needs, challenges, and aspirations. With a background in engagement, storytelling, and knowledge exchange, I specialize in equipping researchers with the tools to make their work impactful and their careers fulfilling.

Work with me

I see possibilities where others see problems, and my experience mentoring young adults, business owners, and researchers will help you confidently explore and reach towards your potential.

With many years of experience engaging with people, communities, and organisations at all levels I I know how to share stories which build trust and understanding in order to facilitate future connection and collaboration.

Together, we’ll identify your strengths, untangle challenges, and craft strategies to help you develop your skills and achieve your goals.

Discover your potential

I offer guidance to develop your own research and career stories through one-to-one or group mentoring. This includes not only creating the story but understanding effective methods to share it – through presentation skills, networking know-how, and beyond.

Learn with me about how to build relationships that matter, communicate successfully with diverse audiences, and develop effective workshops and events.

Craft the narratives that showcase the relevance and impact of your work, and inspire connections and collaborations for the future.

You don’t have to navigate your career alone. With the right support, you can embrace the challenges ahead, grow your confidence, and make a lasting impact in your field.

The blog is where you can read my latest posts, many of which are works-in-progress or thoughts yet to be developed regarding my own research for my part-time PhD. Comments are usually enabled and I welcome constructive thoughts and differing perspectives – but always bear in mind the words of Flower from the Disney movie Bambi, “If you can’t say something nice … don’t say nothing at all”

I came to academia a teensy bit later than usual, and when applying for an MA in Historical Research I recall my tutor describing me as a life-long learner. I’d never heard the phrase but I immediately identified with it.

It’s been a long journey from there to the beginning of my PhD however everything I have learned so far will help inform and shape this piece of work and my future consultancy adventures.
