Whether you’re looking to tell your research story in a way that inspires action, learn to listen well enough that others feel safe sharing theirs, or understand how to create and nurture meaningful connections, I’m here to help you thrive.
Good engagement doesn’t start with the story. It starts with trust.
If your research isn’t reaching the people it’s for, or your organisation has something important to say but keeps losing people along the way, the instinct is usually to fix the message. Often, the real work is earlier than that. It’s in how you approach people, how you listen, and whether they feel safe enough to give you something true.
I work with researchers, academics, and organisations to build that groundwork, and then to shape the story once it’s ready to be told.
How I Work
Every session I run is shaped around the people in the room and what they’re actually navigating, not a fixed programme. Some groups need to slow down and think about how they’re approaching communities in the first place. Others already have the relationships and need help finding the shape of the story. A few need both.
Rather than list set workshops, I’d rather have a conversation with you first. Tell me who you’re trying to reach, what’s getting lost, and what’s already working. From there I’ll shape a session that fits: a single reflective conversation, a longer facilitated workshop, or an ongoing piece of engagement consultancy.
As a storyteller, facilitator, and mentor, I bring a unique blend of experience, positivity, and practicality. My approach is grounded in empathy and adaptability, focused on your needs, challenges, and aspirations. With a background in engagement and knowledge exchange, I specialise in equipping researchers and organisations with the tools to make their work impactful, and their communities genuinely heard.
Who this tends to be right for …
I take on a small number of clients at a time, and I only work with work I find genuinely interesting. If that sounds like the right fit, I would love to hear from you.
Academics and researchers who know their subject deeply but haven’t been trained in engagement, and who want to build genuine relationships with the communities their research touches, not just tick a box.
Organisations and community teams who need to gather or share stories with care, particularly where the people involved have experienced difficulty, exclusion, or harm, and where getting it wrong has real cost.
Anyone who senses that their current approach feels a little extractive, even if they can’t quite name why.
If any of that sounds familiar, get in touch and we’ll talk it through. No pitch, just a conversation about what would actually help.
